Awesome Pukekohe produces more stars!!

Pukekohe logoWow!! Li’l old Pukekohe has more claims to fame with young locals appearing in the new seasons “Go Girls” telly programme.

The show is back on tv for it’s fifth season and anyone who is a fan will be able to see, or anyone who just wants to see what our local talent has to offer, JJ Fong and Robert Hartley.

JJ, who is from Pukekohe and went to Strathallan College, says that she got into acting a few years ago, but has attended a musical theatre school in Wellington doing dancing and singing before coming into acting. When she and fellow local, Robert, were cast as lovers in Go Girls, they discovered that they both came from Pukekohe – small world!

Robert followed his parents to Franklin from  Yorkshire in England, at age 18, and says that he has been acting for as long as he can remember. He has had to try and brush up on his Irish accent for the role, as he says that it was sounding more Scottish than Irish originally and has been able to practice the accent on the customers at Cinema 3 in Pukekohe were he works part time.

Both JJ and Robert say that, although they are now based in Auckland, Pukekohe will always be “home”. JJ is  “a country girl at heart” and Roberts says that it has ” a real, nice community feel”.

It is fantastic what can be achieved when you are passionate about something!!
